The Compact 4.4 is a very small format system designed for use where ever space is restricted or size requirements are limited. Like all Compact Systems designs, the 4.4 is shipped with an external U bracket for easy and flexible installation. Because the 4.4 also incorporates switchable low z or high z operation the Compact 4.4 can be used in a wide variety of foreground/background installation applications. The system features a switchable low impedance or high impedance design. The low Z configuration is an 8 ohm nominal impedance. The high Z configuration provides an industry standard 100Vrms fully isolated transformer. There are 3 available taps: 35 watts; 25 watts;and 15 watts. System power handling is a full 50 watts and the high sensitivity of 85dB (1 watt at 1 meter) insures that the Compact 4.4 is capable of excellent elevated sound pressure level performance. The Compact Series enclosures may also be used with the XT-15 Sub powered sub when additional bandwidth or high impact subwoofer program material is required. Adding the powered XT-15 Sub to any of the Compact Series will produce exceptional low frequency extension and impact.

The Compact 4.4 is a high performance small format foreground and background sound reinforcement system designed for permanent installation in a wide variety of acoustic environments. The balanced low frequency response makes the Compact 4.4 ideally suited for retail spaces where high energy music playback is specified, particularly when a sub woofer is added. The system is also excellent for smaller fitness centers and workout rooms where amplified music supports verbal instruction.

The Compact 4.4 presents a very cosmetic design and integrates well into upscale restaurant and pub environments where themed music is a part of the overall experience. The P Audio Compact 4.4 features a 4 inch (102mm) woofer with a weather resistant coating that also improves mechanical damping of the cone. The woofer utilizes P Audio's renowned high temperature voice coil design to insure both very high power handling and high reliability.

The small format enclosure integrates well into many acoustic spaces and the advanced woofer design provides balanced low frequency response. The HF section features a horn loaded 1 inch (25.4mm) mylar based diaphragm. The horn loading increases the on axis sensitivity of the system and improves overall system directivity. The Compact 4.4 enclosure is injection molded and utilizes a very high impact polycarbonate resin. The enclosure is available in both black and white to allow the enclosure to blend into a variety of interior decorating schemes.

The system features a switchable input that features both low impedance, direct drive, as well as multi tap positions for constant voltage distributed system designs. The 4 position switch offers 35 watt, 25 watt, and 15 watt taps for constant voltage designs and an 8 ohm direct position for conventional system drive.
